Travel agent readers of the Travel Trade Gazette titles across the world were again the judges, their votes decided as to who would win these prestigious awards. Host to this years event, Las Vegas, provided the perfect setting to this star studded evening.
In all 54 awards were presented ranging from the World's Leading Destination to the World's Leading Airline. Travel industry bosses shared centre stage with stunning shows from some of the entertainment world's brightest and well known celebrities including Gladys Knight, Kenny Rogers, Dionne Warwick, Sheena Easton and world champion magician, Lance Burton.
Caesars Palace, no stranger to events of this size and nature, played host to the evening itself. A spectacular line up, a startling show, a sumptuous banquet and to the delight of all the recipients of this years world travel awards, a party that went on in to the early hours.
Graham Cooke, President of World Travel Awards reported: "Tonight was a night to remember. Las Vegas, the entertainment capital of the world has done it again! After the success of the two previous years it seemed impossible to better them, but the impossible was realised. This years event was a stunning success and a fitting tribute to each and every winner of the travel industries highest accolade, the World Travel Award."
A first this year was the presence of The Travel Channel, recording the World Travel Awards live for broadcast around the world.
Another spectacular achievement is the World Travel Award itself. This year the awards have been hand crafted in Bronze by London's Garrard - The Crown Jewellers.
