In 2016 World Travel Awards recognised Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, Chariman, Al Habtoor Group, with the prestigious title of Middle East’s Leading Travel Personality.

A prominent and highly respected citizen of the United Arab Emirates, he is self-made man and leader of one of the most successful conglomerates in the Gulf.

Known not only for his many business achievements, Al Habtoor is also held in high regard for his extensive knowledge of international political affairs; his philanthropic activity; his efforts to promote peace; and the fact that he has long acted as an unofficial ambassador for his country abroad.

Beginning his career as an employee of a local UAE construction firm, he founded his own company in 1970, witnessing it grow alongside the United Arab Emirates itself.

Today Al Habtoor Group is recognised as one of the most prominent business corporations in the region with interests not just throughout the Middle East, but around the world.
